New York Jets offensive lineman Xavier Newman was stretchered off the field due to a neck injury in the third quarter of Sunday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Jets announced Newman has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Melyssa Stark of NBC Sports reported that Newman has movement in his limbs and is being transported to a hospital.
Newman was injured after colliding with Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen during an interception return by rookie cornerback Beanie Bishop Jr.
Newman was stabilized before being placed on a backboard and loaded onto the cart to be transported off the field.
