Families pay tribute to four people from Glasgow killed in head-on M6 collision

The fatal collision happened on the northbound motorway, past Tebay services in Cumbria, at about 4pm on Tuesday 15 October.

Tributes have been paid by the families of four people from Glasgow who died in a crash on the M6.

Five people were killed in the collision involving a Skoda and a Toyota on the northbound motorway, past Tebay services in Cumbria, at about 4.04pm on Tuesday 15 October.

Cumbria Constabulary said officers first received a report of a Skoda travelling southbound on the northbound carriageway.

Emergency crews were en route when the force received further calls it had been involved in a head-on collision with a Toyota.

Jaroslaw Rossa, 42, the driver of the Toyota, and his two sons, Filip, 15, and Dominic, seven, were pronounced dead at the scene alongside passenger Jade McEnroe, 33.

Ms McEnroe’s son, seven-year-old Arran, who was also in the car, was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle where he remains in a serious condition.

The Skoda driver, a 40-year-old man from Cambridgeshire, also died in the crash

In a statement released through Cumbria Constabulary, Filip and Dominic’s mum Kamila said: “We are heartbroken at the passing of our beloved angels.

“Filip was very intelligent, sensitive and full of love. We will never forget his smile, open arms, and the words ‘tuli, tuli’ (hugs, hugs

“He was fascinated by computer games but also incredibly good at chess. He loved chemistry and dreamed of studying at the University of Glasgow.

“Dominic was always smiling, very resolute and sociable. He was extremely caring, always thinking of others first, and the first to help if someone was in trouble.

“Always surrounded by a group of friends of all ages. He loved dinosaurs and Pokémon, but most of all he loved penguins and dreamed of adopting one.

“Our lives will never be the same again.”
