A man has been arrested following a fatal stabbing Monday afternoon along the Montour Trail.
According to court records, police have arrested 25-year-old Anthony Quesen for the murder of 44-year-old Benjamin Brallier, of Kennedy Township, on Oct. 21. While he was off duty at the time of the incident, Brallier was identified as a Pennsylvania State Police Liquor Control Enforcement agent with over 20 years of service.
Moon Township Police reported receiving calls of a man not breathing along the Montour trail just after 2:50 p.m. and found bystanders aiding Brallier at the scene. Paramedics transported Brallier to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. At the hospital, it was determined that he had died from stab wounds to his upper back, chest and left hand.
At the scene of the incident, investigators said they found a trail of blood leading to a yellow bicycle, as well as a bag that contained Quesen’s identification. Brallier’s wife told officers her husband did not own a bike, but Quesen’s mother later told officers the bike belonged to her son
Once a search warrant was obtained, other items belonging to Quesen were also found inside the bag.
Officers reported they found Quesen at the Montour Woods Conservation Area entrance around 10 p.m. with cuts on his hands. Quesen allegedly told police he had been stabbed and was seeking medical attention, so he was taken to the hospital for treatment.
On Tuesday morning, police attempted to interview Quesen and obtained a search warrant for his clothes. At this time, he requested legal representation before moving forward.
As of Tuesday morning, a motive had not been identified. According to online court records, Quesen is being held without bond at the Allegheny County Jail on a homicide charge
