NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — Community members in North Attleboro reacting Tuesday morning after witnesses tell us there was a shooting outside of a hotel late Monday night.
Emergency crews responding to the Hampton Inn and Suites late Monday.
Police blocked off Draper Avenue well into the morning and hazmat crews remained on scene until around 5 am.
For lifelong residents, the reported shooting comes as a shock.
“This is crazy. This town was so boring, and like just nothing ever happened like this,” said Becky Bedard, who grew up in North Attleboro.
Our ABC 6 news crews on scene Monday night saw one person taken away in an ambulance and saw holes in the windows of the hotel.
This is insane that this stuff’s going on now. You know people need to get their lives together and stop causing all of this drama. This is a quiet like cow town,” said Bedard.
Police have not released information regarding any victim, the cause of this incident, or any word on a suspect.
But for people who travel this stretch of road often, it’s certainly concerning.
“It makes you think how life doesn’t wait for us…there’s all kinds of insanity in life today that we never encountered in our younger years. We travel this road every day and it’s unheard of in this area to be honest with you. That’s why I was surprised,” said one resident.
Staff from the Hampton Inn say the investigation is ongoing and they have no comment at this time.
We’ve reached out to North Attleboro Police Department for any additional details on this incident.
