An 18-year-old woman was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon shooting inside a Trotwood apartment.
The gunshot victim was identified as Ja’niyah Hardy by Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooting was reported at 3:18 p.m. at 5530 Autumn Woods Drive, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center. The apartment complex is west of Salem Avenue.
A 20-year-old man was arrested Tuesday at the apartment where the shooting happened and was booked on suspicion of murder in the Montgomery County Jail. The Dayton Daily News is not naming him because he has not been formally charged.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Trotwood Police Department
