
Multiple people are dead following a fiery two-car crash in Thornton.
Just before 8 p.m. on Saturday, the Thornton Police Department posted on X about a deadly two-car crash at Thornton Parkway and Washington Street. The intersection is east of Interstate 25 and Thornton City Hall
Thornton police said one of the vehicles reportedly caught fire after being hit, killing the four people inside. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Officers said the intersection would be closed for an extended period. The road was reopened at 12:37 a.m. Sunday.
Police have not said what factors may have led to the crash, but the investigation is ongoing. The identity of the deceased will be released by the local coroner’s office at a later time.
