A FedEx employee was accidentally shot outside of the FedEx Hub early Wednesday morning near the airport area.
Just before 4 a.m., officers say they responded to a shooting call in the 2000 block of Democrat Road. FedEx says a team member accidentally discharged his personal firearm in their Memphis World Hub parking lot.

The employee was shot and taken to the hospital, but is expected to be ok.

The company released a statement saying, “We are thankful our team member did not sustain serious injuries, and we hope for a speedy recovery. There is no higher priority than the safety and security of our team members, and we are cooperating fully with investigating authorities. All further questions should be directed to Memphis Police.”
